The Wings of Light system is the Destiny Gundam's only shining feature, being a propulsion system that's superior to most other mobile suits. Its "Palma Fiocina" palm beam cannon required you to be in extremely close range of your target for it to be actually effective, which makes it more of a emergency use weapon rather that a primary weapon. Being a combination of all of the Impulse's Silhouette packs, it sported no superior offensive capabilities (its most powerful beam cannon being about the same as the Impulse's "Kerberos" laser cannon on its Blast Silhouette pack and was about equal in power to the Strike Freedom's torso beam cannon its "Arondight" anti-ship sword and beam boomerangs being about the same the Sword Impulse's "Excalibur" anti-ship sword (though the Destiny only has one anti-ship sword rather than two) and beam boomerangs.) Its 2 other notable features, the palm beam cannons and the Wings of Light system, were not as impressive as I was expecting. In my opinion, the Destiny Gundam had a lot of faults. With it and the DRAGOONS, the Strike Freedom is more capable than Destiny in fighting a single enemy (overwelming them with DRAGOONs and other beam weaponry), multiple enemies (auto-targetting system with nuclear power allowing constant beam weapon use until all enemies are eliminated), and destroying enemy ships (single very agile mobile suit being able to simultaneously attack multiple big targets with DRAGOONs)
As with the Freedom, the Strike Freedom came with a state-of-the-art targetting system for it to target multiple enemies to fire upon with its numerous beam cannons. It also had the ability to connect to the METEOR system, which vastly increases its offensive power with numerous beam weapons and missile launchers. The Strike Freedom expands upon the firing capabilities of the original Freedom design as well as giving it DRAGOONs, a beam cannon in its torso equivalent in power to the Destiny's main beam cannon, and beam shields on each arm. However, a design that smoothly combined all the Strike's armaments couldn't be made at the time, so the design was later scrapped for the Freedom's current design and was used instead for the Destiny's design. For those of you who didn't know, the Destiny Gundam's design was actually similar to what Fukada (the director of Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny) originally wanted the Freedom to be like, which was a combination of all of the Strike's armaments into a single mobile suit. Although I hate both Kira and Shinn (and Gundam SEED Destiny as a whole), I would have to say that the Strike Freedom is more overpowered.
